PREPARE THE SOIL
In the garden, we prepare the soil by mixing in the scraps, and organic material that is discarded as waste but now it becomes soupy seeming mess that will alchemically produce a tomato or a cucumber.
In consciousness we prepare by aligning ourselves with Truth. This may happen with quieting the mind from its incessant chatter.
Ernest Holmes says in the Science of Mind:
Prepare your mind to receive the best that life has to offer.
We are immersed in an infinite Creative Medium which, because of its nature, must respond to us. The soil does not care what you plant. It will return whatever you put into it.
TEND TO THE GARDEN
In the garden I choose the seeds to Plant: Tomato, cucumber, zucchini. I tend the garden as I water the plants, keep the space clean by weeding the overgrowth, so the plants will have the environment to grow.
In consciousness I plant with prayer or affirmative thought: I plant peace of mind; world peace, radiant health. I tend to the garden. I water the plants with faith and trust. I weed out fear and doubt.
LET GO AND TRUST
In the garden, I understand the process, and I trust the law of growth. I let go. I don’t dig up the seed to see how it is doing.
In consciousness I let go and trust the invisible, and the law of manifestation also.
Ernest Holmes says in the Science of Mind:
We must learn to trust the invisible, for it is the only thing that is immutably real.
Faith is a mental attitude, so inwardly embodied that the mind can no longer deny it.
